Faith and the Host

I would like to write more on the Eucharist at another time, but I saw this article and had to point it out: what would St. Paul have said, for whom sacrament depended on faith and not form? I hope this situation is resolved speedily; I think the church is in error.

Dude, this article is crazy. I agree, the church is wrong on this. But I can see why the Catholic church is so hung up on this issue. That whole trans-substantiation thing is a big one for them. If Jesus was from Asia, come to think of it he was, but if he was from like China a rice wafer would be the norm. Would they then deny little European kids who were raised on wheat the opportunity to participate? Symbolism is a great thing, if not taken to the point of interfering in the legitimate practice of faith and tradition.

Mike,

it is crazy. And I don't mean to bash the roman church or the eucharist, but to not see the folly of straining at the gnat and swallowing the camel. This is like a story out of the gospels where Jesus blasts away at the established religious culture.

Troy, Mike,
You guys are so right. What a way to miss the ball. I'm so sorry for this little kid.
